Week 6: 9 Ways to Negotiate the Salary You Want

Hmmm…. Ways to negotiating a salary that is exactly what you want. I’m gonna discuss a few ways that you can do this. First off you need to do some research on the company and see what they offer as pay for the position you are applying for. That way you know what to expect. Maybe you could contact a former employee or someone that had worked there in the past, and see what information they give you. Another tip I wanna talk about is avoid the question or ask yourself. If you ask yourself about the salary for the position, don’t ask the question too soon. It shows the employer you are just in it for the money. I mean of course you want to know how much you are or would be making. But it really shouldn’t be the highlight or main topic point in your interview. The next tip is be delicate, but convincing in your dialogue. You don’t want to be demanding and tell the employer this and that of what you want. The key to this is by being persuasive. It could get you a long way in some situations. It could definitely show the employer you are interested in the job position, but at the same time not desperate. Another thing tell them something that sets you apart from anyone else who has applied for the same position. It could be anything that you think would make the employer separate you from the others. So these are just a few things that could help you negotiate.
